Day 1: Ha Giang – Heaven’s Gate – Twin Mountains – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Tham Ma Pass – Vuong Palace – Dong Van (Motorbike Tour)
Today, we’ll travel approximately 150 km by motorbike and enjoy about an hour of walking. Along the way, you’ll have many chances to meet the local H’mong people and experience their unique culture and way of life.
We’ll stop frequently to admire the scenery, take photos, and soak in the beauty of northern Vietnam’s mountains and valleys.
Our first highlight is Heaven’s Gate, sitting at 1,500 meters above sea level. From here, you’ll be treated to an incredible panoramic view—often above the clouds. As we pass through Quan Ba, we’ll stop to admire the famous Twin Mountains, also known as the woman breasts, a symbol of the region.
We’ll enjoy lunch at a small local restaurant in Quan Ba before continuing our ride.
As we approach Dong Van, we’ll make a stop 15 km west of the town to visit the historic Vuong Palace—also known as the H’mong King’s Palace. This beautifully preserved home was built by the H’mong people for their king and reflects a blend of Chinese and French architecture, rich with cultural history.
We expect to arrive in Dong Van around 5:00 PM. Once there, you’ll check into a local homestay, enjoy a warm dinner, and have time to take a peaceful evening stroll through this charming mountain village.
Day 2: Dong Van – Thien Huong Village – Ma Le Village (Full-Day Trekking)
We’ll start the day with breakfast around 7:30 AM, then begin our trekking journey.
Today’s adventure will cover approximately 18 km on foot, as we trek from Thien Huong Village to Ma Le Village .to Ma Le Village .
Thien Huong is a quiet , is a quiet, ancient village nestled on the Dong Van Karst Plateau, about 7 km from Dong Van Town. While it may not be widely known, it’s a hidden gem—perfect for travelers who appreciate the serene and untouched beauty of the northern highlands. With its traditional homes, peaceful atmosphere, and surrounding limestone cliffs, Thien Huong is a true paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
As we continue our trek, we’ll make our way to Ma Le Village, another ancient settlement tucked deep within the rocky mountains. Surrounded by dramatic karst formations and lush greenery, Ma Le offers a glimpse into traditional highland life that has remained unchanged for generations.
After spending time exploring Ma Le and taking in the views, we’ll return to Dong Van by motorbike, where you can rest and spend another night at your homestay.
Day 3: Dong Van – Meo Vac – Duong Thuong – Ha Giang (Motorbike)
After a relaxed breakfast, pack your belongings and prepare for the journey back. Your driver will pick you up from your homestay in Dong Van, and we’ll start our ride back to Ha Giang City.
Today, we’ll pass through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in northern Vietnam, including the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, located within the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. Known as the “King of Vietnam’s mountain passes,” Ma Pi Leng offers stunning views of deep valleys, towering cliffs, and the emerald-green Nho Que River far below.
At the top of the pass, you’ll have the chance to ride along the iconic Happiness Road—a 20-kilometer stretch of road carved by hand into the mountains by local people. This road not only connects remote communities, but also stands as a symbol of the unity and determination of the people who built it. The views here are truly dramatic and unforgettable.
We’ll continue through Meo Vac, a picturesque mountain town surrounded by magnificent landscapes—one of the most beautiful spots in the entire loop.
From there, we’ll continue our journey through Duong Thuong, heading back to Ha Giang, where we should arrive around 4:00 or 5:00 PM.
